What is colour analysis?

Discover the colours that truly suit you — and transform the way you shop.

Colour analysis starts with the simple idea that some colours naturally suit you better than others — making your skin glow, your eyes sparkle, and your whole outfit feel more put together. Others might wash you out or feel “off” even if the style is great.

That’s because we each have a unique combination of skin tone, natural hair colour, and eye colour. These determine which colours suit you best — and which to avoid.

🌸 The Four Seasons

At the highest level, colour analysis groups people into Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter, based on a combination of three key factors: temperature (warm or cool undertones), depth (light or dark colouring) and chroma (bright and clear, or soft and muted).

Each season has a distinctive feel:

  • Spring types are warm, light, and bright — think clear, sunny colours like coral, peach, and daffodil yellow.
  • Summer types are cool and soft — dusty rose, cornflower blue, and muted greys work beautifully.
  • Autumn types are warm and rich — think moss green, burnt orange, and golden browns.
  • Winter types are cool and deep — they shine in bold contrast, like icy pink, cobalt, and jet black.

🔍 The 12 Sub-Seasons

Most people fit even more precisely into a sub-season, based on how light/dark, bright/muted, and warm/cool their overall look is.

These sub-seasons offer you a tailored palette of colours that bring out your best features. It’s not about rules — once you’ve had your colours analysed, you’ll be able to see how the right colours can transform the way you feel in your clothes.

🌷 Spring

  • Light Spring – light, warm, and delicate; suits fresh pastels and light brights
  • Warm Spring – warm and golden-toned; suits peach, camel, and golden turquoise
  • Clear Spring – warm and bright; suits high-energy, crystal-clear shades

🐚 Summer

  • Light Summer – light and cool; suits soft pinks, aqua blues, and lavender
  • Cool Summer – cool and balanced; suits elegant blues, pinks, and greys
  • Soft Summer – muted and cool; suits smoky, blended tones like mauve and dusty teal

🍂 Autumn

  • Soft Autumn – muted and warm; suits dusky, soft shades like moss green and oatmeal
  • Warm Autumn – warm and rich; suits terracotta, mustard, and olive
  • Deep Autumn – warm and dark; suits intense earth tones like rust, pine, and espresso

❄️ Winter

  • Deep Winter – cool and dark; suits high contrast colours like black, magenta, and pine green
  • Cool Winter – cool and balanced; suits icy pastels and crisp jewel tones
  • Clear Winter – cool and bright; suits sharp, vibrant shades like cobalt and pure red

💡 Why it matters

Once you know your sub-season, it’s like having your own secret style code. You can filter out all the visual noise and focus only on the colours that make you look (and feel) your best.

Wearing the right colours can make a huge difference: your skin will look clearer and more radiant, your eyes will appear brighter, the clothes in your wardrobe will naturally mix and match with each other.

Best of all? You’ll stop wasting time and money on clothes that look “fine” on the hanger but just don’t feel right on you.
